- Lot Description
Robert Motherwell (American, 1915-1991) Abstract Expressionist etching and aquatint on Arches paper. Signed and numbered 12/50 in pencil, lower left margin, and signed and dated 1973 in the plate in reverse, upper right. Printed by Catherine Mosley at Motherwell's Greenwich, CT studio and published by the artist and Dain-Schiff Gallery, New York, with the artist's blindstamp lower right. Ref.: Belknap 104, Engberg & Banach 133. Floated under acrylic in a metallic frame. Sheet: 41 in. H x 29 in. W. Framed: 43 in. H x 31 in. W.
Condition
Overall very good condition, with full margins. Faint, approximately 2 3/4 inch-long surface abrasion or scuff without loss to margin, upper right. Not examined out of frame.
