- Lot Description
Marc Chagall (French/Russian, 1887-1985) etching and aquatint in colors on wove paper, "Les Amoureux dans le ciel a Saint-Paul" (Lovers in the Sky over St. Paul), 1968. Published by Gerald Cramer, Geneva. Signed in pencil, lower right, and editioned 6/50, lower left. With Hand and Branch watermarks, upper right and lower left. Inscribed "G/5314" in pencil to verso. Housed under UV-resistant glass in a giltwood frame with black textile liner and giltwood fillets. Plate: 17 1/4 in. H x 24 in. W. Sheet: 22 1/2 in. H x 29 3/4 in. W. Frame: 40 in. H x 46 1/6 in. W.
Condition
Overall very good condition. With minor toning to edges 1 inch into sheet along sides and 1/2 inch into sheet along upper and lower edges.
