THE MILITARY ANNALS OF TENNESSEE: CONFEDERATE by John Berrien Lindsey. Nashville, TN: J. M. Lindsley & Co, 1886. First Edition. 910pp. Original publisher's gilt-pictorial boards, gilt spine and marbled endpapers. The book reviews in detail regimental histories with their military operations and memorial rolls. Numerous portraits throughout. Notations by George W. Samuel, a member of the Eighth Tennessee Cavalry, with some of his handwritten accounts within. In a section regarding the Eighth Tennessee Cavalry's efforts against Union General Stephen Burbridge, there are two handwritten eyewitness pencil notations in the margins, elaborating on movements and scenes, specifically the capturing and destruction of the saltworks at Saltsville, December 20-21, 1864. Later genealogical information laid in. Dimensions - 9 in. H 6 1/2 in. W.
Condition
Overall very good condition, with expected toning and foxing, marginal pencil notes.
