- Lot Description
Astronaut Gene Cernan (American, 1934-2017) signed NASA photo from the Apollo 17 Lunar Landing in 1972, showing ALSEP equipment placed on the surface of the moon. The photograph is mounted to a white mat autographed by Cernan, the 11th and most recent person to have walked on the moon, and bears his personal inscription to Jesse Stallings of Nashville: "To Jesse Stallings - we really did clean up before we left! My very best wishes - Gene Cernan." Note: Stallings was a prominent Nashville businessman who co-founded and was president of Capitol Airways (1946-mid 1980s). Framed under glass in a silvered molded frame. Image: 10 3/4 in x 13 3/8 in. Frame: 17 1/2 in x 21 1/2 in.
