- Lot Description
1st item: George Wells ( United Kingdom, fl. 1842-1888) oil on canvas painting depicting a female servant holding a teacup on a silver tray. Signed lower left "George Wells." Housed in a gilt-carved Louis XVI style frame. Sight: 13 3/4" H x 10 1/4" W. Framed: 22" H x 18" W. 2nd item: Oil on canvas painting attributed to John Smart (United Kingdom, 1838 -1899) depicting a young girl attired in Victorian dress smiling and holding on to her bonnet while walking on a dirt pathway in a landscape setting, 1886. Signed and dated in red lower right. Housed in a gilt-carved Louis XVI style frame. Sight: 13 1/2" H x 11 1/2" W. Framed: 20 1/2" H x 19" W.
Condition
1st item: Overall good condition. 2nd item: Very light overall craquelure plus some scattered in-painting noted under UV inspection.
