- Lot Description
1st item: Sadao Watanabe (Japan, 1913-1996) color woodblock or stencil print depicting the Biblical deeding of the multitude with Christ and followers before loaves of bread and fish, 1972. Signed, dated, and numbered 37/70, lower margin. Floated under plexiglass in an ebonized wood frame with tan mat. Sheet: 25 3/4" H x 23 1/4" W. Frame: 38 1/2" H x 33 5/8" W. 2nd item: Iwao Akiyama (Japan, 1921-2014) woodblock print depicting a human face surrounded by shadows and entitled Shadow of Birds, 1972. Pencil signed dated, and numbered 6/100, lower margin. Housed under plexiglass in a distressed giltwood frame with cream mat and black French line. Sight: 9 1/4" H x 11 1/2" W. Frame: 16" H x 18" H.
Condition
Overall very good condition. Not examined outside of frames. 2nd item with possible faint discoloration to lower right sight edge, however this may be inherent to paper. 1st item with liquid staining to mat only, lower left.
