- Lot Description
Robert Kipniss (American, b. 1931) oil on canvas painting depicting the interior of a room as viewed through an open door. A table holding a vase of greenery seemingly unsupported by stems sits before a bright window. Signed "Kipniss" lower right. Merrill Chase Gallery label en verso. Pre-1982. Stretcher: 40" H x 30" W. Frame: 41" H x 31" W.
Condition
2" scratch upper left corner. 1/16" flake upper center at top edge. A couple of scattered areas of fine craquelure. Small indention, some faint scratching, and stretcher marks to lower section of canvas. Some wear to canvas at exterior stretcher corners.
