- Lot Description
Southern or Mid-Atlantic cherry chest of drawers with poplar and possibly chestnut or similar hardwood secondary. Consisting of a plain, slightly overhanging top above four graduated, scratch-beaded, and dovetailed drawers fitted with compass star bale pulls, all above a shaped skirt, and flaring French-style feet. 39 3/4" H x 43" W x 20 3/4" D. Circa 1815. Note: Acquired in 1980 from Miller's Auction in Newport, Tennessee.
Condition
Overall very good condition. Older refinished surface, the top with minor wear, some vertical wood shrinkage to the sides, and one back leg with metal reinforcement.
