- Lot Description
Three (3) 19th c. Utagawa school color woodblock prints on paper. Item 1: Toyokuni III AKA Kunisada (1786-1864) portrait of the poet and author Sei Shonagon, c. 1841-1842, from the series "Mirror of Famous Heroines of Ancient Japan." With Chikyu-Do & Co. sticker affixed to backing. Framed: 18 3/4 in. H x 13 7/8 in. W. Item 2: Toyokuni III AKA Kunisada kabuki actor diptych with the actors Seki Sanjuro and Kawarazaki Gonjuro as they confront a giant centipede while under a banner with an image of a centipede. With Lyzon Inc., Nashville gallery or framing label affixed to backing. Framed: 19 1/8 in. H x 24 1/8 in. W. Item 3: Kunisada III AKA Hosai (1848-1920) kabuki actor triptych with a scene from the play Kiichi Hogen, with Princess Minazuru, Tozaro, and other characters. With Lyzon Inc., Nashville label affixed to backing. Framed: 19 1/8 in. H x 33 1/8 in. W.
Condition
All items in overall very good condition, with minor surface grime. Some colors slightly attenuated. Not examined out of frames.
