Two (2) Reuben Nakian (New York, 1897-1986) Expressionist drypoint etchings with chine-colle, from the Myths and Legends series. Both signed in pencil, lower right, and editioned "H.C.," (Hors D' Commerce) lower left. 1st item: Nymph and Goat I, 1979, in black ink. Housed in red and gilt wooden frame with ivory mat. Plate: 16 3/4" H x13 1/2" W. Sight: 19" H x 15 1/2" W. Frame: 30" H x 24 1/2" W. 2nd item: Nymph and Goat III, 1979, in black ink. Housed in a contemporary wooden frame with white mat. Plate:13 1/2" H x 16 1/2" W. Sight: 16 3/4" H x 20" W. Frame: 27" W x 23 1/4" H.
PROVENANCE: Vanderbilt Hillel, from the Benjamin D. and Ruby G. Schulman Foundation.
Both prints in apparent good condition. Not examined outside of frames. 2nd item's frame with some abrasions plus loose fillet and 3" split in wood, upper left corner.
