- Lot Description
Small William J. McCoy Jr. (Knoxville, 1906-1995) oil on board Tennessee mountain landscape painting titled "View From Maloney Point". Signed "McCoy" in red, lower right. Gallery label en verso with title and identifying the artist. Housed in a gilt wood frame with linen liner. Sight: 14 1/2" H x 7 1/2" W. Framed: 8 1/2" H x 11 1/2" W. Note: William J. McCoy Jr. painted the area in and around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in the style of the East TN painter Charles Krutch, who also signed his paintings in red. Mr. McCoy's father was an early Knoxville photographer who likely worked with Krutch.
