According to the artist, “Picasso the pinto stallion was probably the most famous and iconic wild mustang of the Sand Wash Basin. He became a symbol of the wild horses in the Basin situated in North Western Colorado. Picasso lived well beyond the typical lifespan of a wild horse, reaching the age of just over 30 years. Picasso was last seen in November 2019 and this painting is my tribute to this beautiful and iconic horse with his lovely markings almost making him look like a ‘Picasso’ painting.”
