Dynamic and grand, this Maass painting shows a group of pintails as they depart from a scenic pool. Jackson Hole's Teton Mountains rise in the background, with the sharp peak of Grand Teton rising prominently. Maass' preliminary sketch is included in the lot. This 5 1/2 by 6 3/4 inch graphite sketch is signed and dated by the artist.
