William Gibian (b. 1946), Onancock, VA, c. 2000
A life-size shorebird carving displaying an open bill, extensive wing and tail feather carving, a raised foot, and the maker's incised signature on the bottom of the base. The bird is carved in a feigning posture used by birds to distract predators from their nest.
Original paint with minor wear and touch-up to feet.Condition
