American (attributed to Kentucky), ca 1800. A very fine sugar desk in cherry, having a slant top writing surface with fitted interior spice drawers and divided compartments, the paneled case having a single dovetailed drawer, decorated with herringbone inlay above a running atragal apron, all rising on finely turned and reeded tapering feet; ht. 37, wd. 30.75, dp. 18 in.
