The sword with fine 31" long rapier blade with single fuller engraved with cabalistic symbols and invocations to Mary, Mother of God ("Maria"). The hilt with characteristic seven-ring basket and pierced plate held by two screws. The pommel is of urn form, fluted. The spirally fluted wooden grips wrapped in steel wire cap top and bottom with elaborate Turk's head.
Blade is finely patinated with micro-chips on edge and staining throughout. The hit is in good condition throughout. Blade showing age but no period corrosion. The grip is in excellent condition. The sword appears to be homogeneous and probably has never been dismounted. A textbook example of this popular form of rapier.
