.36 caliber, 33.5" octagonal barrel with gold banded breech and gold maker's inlaid plate engraved John Winter, Maker, Cincinnati (active 1834 to 1850s). Percussion backlock, action frozen, and folding tang sight. Walnut half stock with checkered wrist and cheek rest, and engraved German silver furniture; some inlays missing, including an eagle motif. Complete with wood ramrod. Worth the effort to restore it.
Near relic condition due to poor storage. Heavy surface rust and dry wood. Missing inlaid elements. A once exceptional rifle that may clean to fair or good condition.
