First Model Virginia Rifle
.45 caliber, 43" octagonal-to-round barrel. On the top of barrel at breech is marked "15." Lockplate marked Richmond and dated 1806. Gooseneck-style hammer; iron triggerguard. Four-piece iron patchbox is shaped like a coiled rattlesnake and engraved Don't Tread On Me. Iron nosecap and sideplate. Walnut stock with cheek piece.

Barrel has a dark brown patina with some light pitting mixing in. Lockplate and hammer have a dark brown mixing with pitting. Stock has an old small piece of wood missing just forward of the frizzen. Stock has some wear and shows nice old untouched hand-rubbed patina.
