French powder flask made of horn covered with a velvet cloth material and decorated with gilt brass panels and spout. The panels are deeply chased and share the same scene and decorations on each panel. The scene consist of a horseman following a group of warriors going into battle. There are several folklore faces present and decorated with a nice border. The lower right and left hand corners have a sword and shield as well as a bow and arrow.
Retains most of the gilt throughout with some wear to the corners and spout. The velvet material shows some wear and color has faded. Overall a great example of French craftsmanship and a fine artistic specimen of a French Renaissance powder flask.
