A coin silver pitcher by Fletcher & Gardiner, having a scrolling acanthus handle and shoulder band with grapevine motif, marked on underside, and a lobed coin silver cup by Thomas Fletcher; pitcher oah. 9.5 in., cup oah. 5 in., silver wt. 34.41ozt (1070g).
The Thomas Fletcher cup offered here purportedly belonged to Nicholas Biddle (1786-1844), Pennsylvania politician and president of the Second Bank of the United States, and was part of a larger set.
