Chief Lone Tree, Crow signed, titled and dated lower center hand-written inscriptions on reverse, including #71 u.l., the following text: Painted in Server's Hotel - 1912 - He's one of the oldest Crows living - a man active in all tribal affairs and a leader of the old fighters - In the lobby of the hotel - just a plain 2-story house, hung a picture portrait of Wild Bill Hickock - painted by Father ______: asking why a priest would paint such a character like Wild Bill, Server said - He meant it for a picture of Jesus Christ - but didn't like it - or did not look like him - so he changed and made Wild Bill of the picture - It was an awful picture at that!
