.44 S&W special caliber, 6.5" barrel, S/N 10199. The top flat of the barrel is marked with the S&W name, address and patent dates. The left of barrel features the caliber. Numbered 5455 on the interior of the frame and cylinder. Blue finish, with casehardened hammer and trigger. With checkered walnut grips with S&W medallions.
Included with the pistol is the original receipt for the pistol dated December 29, 1929, signed from Tom Threepersons to Tom Powers, for the price of fifty dollars. The price also included a Winchester Model 1894 rifle, also featured in this auction. Tom Powers was the owner of the famous saloon in El Paso where many great historic arms were identified. An April 2, 1974 dated El Paso County Probate Court inventory of Mr. Power's estate, included in the lot, lists this pistol in his collection. Mr. Powers own personal notarized inventory is also included, which lists the pistol.
The lot also includes dual photograph in a carved folk art frame of Threepersons holding and shooting this very pistol. The pistol is also pictured on page 16 of the August, 1975 issue of True West magazine.

The pistol retains most of its original blue finish, with wear to the sides of the barrel and the gripstraps, from holstering and handling. The left grip has a small chip to the wood, with both grips showing wear from use. Very good overall condition.
