Model 1803 Harpers Ferry Rifle
.54 caliber rifled, 33" part octagonal-to-round barrel, S/N 567. "P" and eagle in oval, "US" in oval on the left side of barrel at breech. Lockplate has an eagle with "US" and marked in the rear Harper's Ferry and dated 1805. Brass mounted with brass patchbox. Walnut stock.

Barrel is sharp and crisp with remnants of brown finish mixing with some black staining. Lock and hammer have nice patina with some very fine pitting mixing in. Stock is very good with some nicks and dings. A readable but dim cartouche. Brass mounts with patina. A very rare martial arm in original flint.
