.69 caliber, 42" round barrel. Flat-style lockplate with Butterfield priming device, marked in the front Butterfield's Patent; dated 1816 in the rear of lockplate. Dated 1816 on the top of buttplate. Three barrel bands. Model 1812 stock with cheek piece.
Barrel has an old coat of dried grease with a bright appearance and light scattered pitting and brown staining throughout the barrel. Top of barrel bands have an even match with the barrel. Lockplate has the dried grease with sharp edges and scattered light pitting. Dim but readable markings. Stock has had two repairs, pieces of wood added around the lock area. Stock has some nicks and dings.
