Model 1816 Remington Contract with Maynard Tape Primer
.69 caliber, 42" round barrel with long range rear barrel sight. Marked in the rear of lockplate Remington's Ilion New York 1855 U.S. Dated 1856 on the tang. Also marked D 34. Top of each band including the buttplate marked with a "6." Left flat of stock opposite of lock is marked "AH" over "V." And in the rear of the flat is marked "JAS." Marked "MS" behind triggerguard.

Barrel is gunmetal grey with some light black staining running from breech to the muzzle. Some dings on the top of barrel at breech. Lock and hammer are smooth and gunmetal grey with some very light staining. Markings are dim but readable. Bands, triggerguard and buttplate have been cleaned to bright with traces of black staining. Stock is sharp and crisp with some nicks and dings.
