A Staffordshire pitcher of American historical interest having pink lustre accents and two reserves with black transferware portraits of Commodore William Bainbridge (1774-1833) surrounded by patriotic naval symbols, all on a mint green ground, unmarked; ht. 4.5 in.
Commodore Bainbridge famously commanded the USS Constitution during the War of 1812.
Small chip in spout. Wear to glaze along rim and handle.
