English Carved Oak Drop Leaf Dining Table, c. 1920, the oval top on turned and block legs joined by a box stretcher, H.- 27 1/2 in., W.- 14 3/4 in., D.- 36 in., Open- W.- 40 in.
Condition consistent with age and use. Scattered minor scratches, scuffs, and dents are observed intermittently throughout. A depression, approximately 3 inches deep, is noted on one half of the cushion, which does not contain springs but horsehair stuffing. The woven straps beneath are detached from the edge of the frame. The other side of the cushion is firm. The carving is integral to the frame. Two burn spots, pea-size and smaller, are observed on one edge. Four spots of brown discoloration are seen near one corner, with an approximate 2 inch area of clear residue nearby. A pea-size spot of wear is noted in one rose. A pea-size scuff is seen on one foot. An approximate ½ inch white streak is observed on one corner. An approximate 1 cm deep scratch is noted in the carving. A lovely piece.
