French Louis XIII Style Carved Walnut Armoire, 19th c., the stepped dentillated crown over double doors with applied geometric decoration flanked by fielded panel sides, on a base with two frieze drawers over a sloping plinth, on large bun feet, H.- 95 in., W.- 72 in., D.- 28 1/2 in.
Condition consistent with age and use. Interior D.- 21 in. One shelf present. An approximate 1 Ѕ ft. deep scratch at the top of the right door. Right side of the base loose. Holes and dust from wood beetle exposure throughout. Approximate 12 inch cracks on the right side of the crown and just above the right door. A 1 cm dent and 1 inch chip in the left door. A 6 inch thin loss from wood beetle exposure on the left side. A 3 inch chip near the top of the left side. A 3 inch chip in the crown on the left side. Three splits in wood around the panel on the left side. A vertical crack with wood fill on the left. Possible repair to the back left corner of the base. A nice example.
