Group of Five Chinese Carved Bone Items, early 20th c., consisting of four snuff bottles, one with calligraphic inscriptions and scrimshaw decoration, and a relief carved tusk tip, Largest- H.- 4 1/4 in., W.- 2 3/4 in., D.- 1 1/4 in. Provenance: Palmira, the Estate of Sarkis Kaltakdjian (Sarkis Oriental Rugs), Prairieville, Louisiana. (5 Pcs.)Cylinder snuff bottle – Some residue present on bottom. Would benefit from cleaning. Otherwise, nothing to report. Snuff bottle with script –there is a crack across the bottom. Sculptural figure – Nothing to report, fine example. Cabochon snuff bottle – some of the ink looks much darker than other areas, possibly added later.
