Maria Laredo, "1976 New Orleans Jazz Fest Poster, Fats Houston," 1976, 1st edition print, edition 93/1000 in pencil lower left, pencil signed lower right margin, with a newspaper clipping about "Lorio" and his Jazz Fest collection en verso, presented in a maroon mat and golt metal frame, H.- 33 1/4 in., W.- 20 3/4 in., Framed H.- 40 1/4 in., W.- 27 1/8 in., Note: Fats Houston was the grand marshall of the Eureka Marching Jazz Band. Provenance: from the Collection of Robert Sonnier, New Orleans, Louisiana.The glass on bottom right and left corners is broken. The right side is a larger glass break. The entire sheet of glass needs to be replaced. There is no way to full know if the lithograph is glued onto a board, but the top and bottom of the piece are slightly warped, which indicates that is probably floated on a board and not fully glued down. There is no visual damage or marks on lithograph. The top right corner has some darker red streaks, which seem to have happened during the time of printing. The mat has faded and moisture has entered around all borders. All of this can be easily replaced and updated by a framer. This is a very handsome example and 1st edition painting. ________________________________________________________________________________ ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD "AS IS."
