Information provided by the Artist: Gong Yuebin is a contemporary artist recognized for major installation works including Site 2801 at the Crocker Art Museum and Life’s Crossroad, exhibited at universities nationwide. Rather than repeat past success, he returned to ink painting with renewed depth and clarity. His recent years works—Essence of Tai Chi, Ethereal Ink, and Tai Chi Impression—explore time, memory, and impermanence through a meditative lens. For Gong, ink is not merely a medium but a quiet space of reflection. With that reflection, he explored the realm of literature, where he shares his life stories and experiences from the first half of his life spent across the globe. The Site 2801 Miniature Set reimagines fragments of the original installation in an intimate scale, offering collectors a distilled expression of the larger work’s spirit—where presence, space, and stillness converge.
