  Comments/description: Crate has been varnished or otherwise clear-coated so it has a nice sheen and patina rather than the look of dry 85-year-old wood. It is loaded with tax and revenue references that include multiple Illinois and Missouri Liquor Control stamps and an IRTP statement imprinted into the wood itself Manufactured by Columbia Box Company of St. Louis.   Condition

  There is some minor writing, small paint spots, and wear consistent with use of a utilitarian item of this age. Back panel with strap hinges is bowed inward, not likely evident in all photos.
