- Lot Description
19th Century Black Silk Bodice and More. The lot includes a mix of 19th century ladies black silk clothing. Featuring a late 19th century black silk mourning bodice featuring a short standing collar, large blouse sleeves, a ruched machine lace yolk and cuffs, black glass beading and buttons, stays, and a black cotton chintz lining. Laying flat it measures: Waist: 14'' , Bust: 17'', Shoulders: 13'', Sleeves: 21''. It is in good/fair condition with faded lace, general fading, and discolorations in the underarms. A late 19th century black silk grosgrain mourning jacket with a sailor collar, slightly blouse sleeves, pleats at the shoulders creating flared side panels, fabric covered buttons, and black passementerie ric rac style trims. Laying flat it measures: Shoulders: 14'', Bust: 20'', Waist: 21'', Sleeve: 20'' Length: 18''. It is in good condition. Also included is a late 19th century half corset made of fine black silk grosgrain backing in brown cotton chintz with eyelets at the back, stays, and black silk passementerie trim. Laying flat it measures 16'' long by 27'' wide. In fair/poor condition with wear and silk loss to the trim, loose trim, and hole/shattering to the black silk exterior.
