2 Vintage Quilts - Sun Bonnet Sue & Hexagonal Star, Includes a c1930s Sun Bonnet Sue quilt comprised of 16 Sues jumping rope and playing balls, set 4 x 4, in a variety of floral and solid pastel cotton fabrics with black and green embroidered details, a solid pink appliqued inner border, hand appliqued and machine quilted, thin cotton batting, white cotton reverse, measuring 75" x 81", in poor condition with heavy loss to embroidery, fading to fabrics, heavy edge wear, several stains and spots. Also includes a multi-generational Six-Pointed Star in 70 hexagonal blocks, set 7 x 10, with a variety of cotton fabrics with some silk, in solids and prints such as plaids, florals, mourning prints and more, brown sashing, hand pieced, hand quilted, polyester batting with a gray cotton reverse and gray binding, fabrics from the early 1900s through the 1940s, probably completed in the 1980s, measuring 66" x 81", in fair condition with shattering to silks, fading and storage discoloration, and some spots.
