- Lot Description
Costume from the region of Thrace, Greece. The area is known for the Ancient Greek mythological figure Orpheus and for the historical figure Spartacus. The costume comprises a sleeveless black cotton dress, a woven wool green apron, and a striped green waist belt. The black dress has a v neck and it features detailed embroidery along the neckline and chest. The embroidery is in green. Blue, yellow, and red with diamonds, flowers, arrows, geometrics, and more. At the hem of the dress, there is an embroidered jacquard ribbon trim with geometrics and florals. There are green and red ribbons. The apron has horizontal bands in yellow and red and the exterior has orange trim. There are geometric bands at the bottom and fringe in green, blue, red, yellow, and other colors. The waistband is a cotton green with bands of darker green in varying thickness. Each piece is in good condition. Laid flat: Length: 42", Shoulders: 17", Bust: 17", and Waist: 18". In house Flat Rate Shipping of $20 is a domestic shipping estimate for the first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy. Each additional lot we can pack in the same box is $5-10 each.Please note, antique clothing, over 100 years old, and some vintage clothing, may not be suitable wearing. Please consider all photos and descriptions prior to bidding. Please contact Dana Auctions directly with any questions. In House Shipping costs: typically, 1st Clothing Lot Ships for $20-$25, (Smaller Accessories 1st Lot, $10-15), each additional lots are $5-10.
