Lee Oscar Lawrie (1877 – 1963) was an architectural sculptor commissioned to create a figure to be installed atop the Nebraska State Capitol circa 1930. This tabletop model was cast in 1978 after the 19-foot bronze sculpture installed at the Nebraska State Capitol, the hooded male figure casting seeds from a pouch at his waist, dark verdigris patina, free-form circular base inscribed 'The Sower Lee Lawrie 1928 copy - Geo. Hoffmeister 1978 #7'.
