By Joseph-Léonard Roque, Paris Circa 1780 The circular white enamel dial signed Roque a Paris with Roman and Arabic numerals and pierced gilt hands, set within a gilt-bronze bezel, the movement striking on a bell, the architectural case of white marble with ormolu mounts, the frieze centered by a relief plaque of a classical putti scene, flanked by urn finials hung with chains, all surmounted by an ormolu bow-knot finial, the mechanism signed Roque Paris No. 846. Height 15 inches (38.2 cm), width 11 1/2 inches (29.3 cm), depth 4 1/4 inches (10.8 cm).
