An attractive pair of delightful Donald Barthelme collections. Barthelme was a remarkably inventive and playful writer. He worked as a reporter for the Houston Post and director of the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston. In 1972, he was awarded the National Book Award for Children's Books. Included is Barthelme's first collection of short stories (Come Back, Dr. Caligari), which was met with critical acclaim. City Life was his third collection.
