This print also depicts President Lincoln, who has his right hand raised, pointing towards the sky (and God). This image was inspired by an event that was said to have occurred when Abraham Lincoln entered the just surrendered city of Richmond, Virginia and a Slave kneeled and kissed his hand. Lincoln pointed towards heaven and said that it is God that should be thanked, not him.
