Description:
10 Russian Lacquer Boxes, including 1 Palekh and 9 Mstiora boxes signed in their respective Russian spellings. The Palekh box signed Korchagin on lower right, titled "Troika" and dated '92 depicts a traditional Russian Troika scene of a three horse drawn sleigh pulling a single rider in a winter landscape. The square Mstiora box signed K.M. on lower right and titled "Snow Maiden" depicts a scene of an elegantly dressed woman addressed two figures in the snow outside of a wooden cottage. The large oval Mstiora box signed T.S. and illegibly titled depicts a scene of a young man playing an instrument for two large and one small dancing horse. The rectangular Mstiora box signed Snirnov on lower right and illegibly titled depicts a Troika scene of a single man in a horse-drawn carriage looking back at a woman walking to town. The Mstiora box signed V.N. and illegibly titled depicts a depicts a scene of a man and woman carrying water pails walking along a trail to town. The hexagonal Mstiora box signed V. Pavrov and titled "Date" depicts a couple embracing one another in a winter landscape as the woman drops her glove. The circular Mstiora box signed Sh. P. and illegibly titled depicts a man casting a net into a raging river as a fish jumps from the waves. The circular Mstiora box signed K.N. on lower right and titled "Song about a Merchant" depicting a man ushering a woman along a path as another gazes on in front of a castle. The circular Mstiora box signed A.E. and titled "Snow Maiden" depicts an elegantly dressed woman in the snow.
