Property from a Collector of Russian and European Art
Description:
3 Russian Lacquer Articles, including a Chest, Box and Ring Holders, including 1 Palekh chest, 1 Mstiora box, and 1 possibly Mstiora Ring Holders. The Palekh style chest illegibly signed, titled, and dated '93 on front and back panels depicts scenes on all four sides of center box and lid picturing figures battling on horses in a forest and in front of a castle. The Mstiora box signed C.K. on lower right and titled "Duel" depicts two dueling figures hoisting spears on horseback. The possibly Mstiora ring holder in the shape of two intertwined rings on an oval base is painted with Mstiora style figures embracing one another on the lids of each ring holder as floral motifs decorate the bands of the rings.Measurements: Height: of largest: 4 3/4 in. x Width: 6 5/8 in. x Depth: 3 3/8 in.
Condition:
Good condition, minor rubbing to some paint and minor scuffs or marks from general use.
