Description:
Folk Art Portrait of a Boy, Oil on Board, unsigned, inscribed 'Painted from life Jan. 1867, 2 sittings' on verso, depicting a young boy in red shirt, unframed.Measurements: Height: of board 8 in. x Width: 6 in.
Condition:
Overall fair condition, in need of gentle cleaning, old marks and scratches to surface with some small losses to paint, mostly in shirt and near chin, small scattered spots of inpainting in face and clothes, minor wear to edges of board, vertical age crack center of bottom edge, old nails holes likely from previous framing in edges.
