• Lot Description

  Property from a Collector of Russian and European Art

  Description:

  Large Russian Mstiora Lacquer Box, signed Ryabkova T. V. on lower right and titled "Sadko" on lower middle; large black box with hinged lid, decorated with a painted scene of the Russian fairy tale of Sadko, a musician and adventurer from Novgorod who became a wealthy merchant through his travels.

  Measurements: Height: 2 in. x Width: 9 1/2 in. x Depth: 7 1/4 in.

  Condition:

  Good condition, minor rubbing to some paint and minor scuffs or marks from general use, minor wear to paint on inside rim of lid from general use.
