Description:
Shao Kuang Ting (Chinese, b. 1937), Two Works of Women, Gouache on Paper, both signed on verso, both depicting a woman with cranes, matted and framed. Frame size: 24 1/2 in. x 24 in. Sheet size of blue work: 19 in. x 18 5/8 in. Sheet size of orange work: 19 in. x 19 3/8
Shao Kuang Ting is an American-Chinese figurative painter and printmaker. Best known for his contribution to the Yunnan Art School style. His calligraphic works, paintings, and handcrafted serigraphs on paper, often featured a stylized woman surrounded by vibrant abstractions. The artist’s work draws heavily on both Ancient Egyptian and Art Nouveau aesthetics. Born on October 7, 1939 in Chenggu County, China, Ting received his formal art training at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts in Beijing. After graduating, he taught at the Yunnan Art Institute in Kunming, China. Ting currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. (ArtNet)Measurements: Height: by sight 18 1/2 in. x Width: 18 in.
