- Lot Description
This antique bench features a classic Windsor spindle back design, characterized by its turned spindles and a shaped top rail with scrolled ends. The seat is crafted from woven rush, providing a distinctive texture and traditional appeal. The bench exhibits a rich, aged patina, indicative of its historical character and construction from natural materials.
Condition
The bench shows significant signs of age and wear consistent with its antique nature. The rush seat is heavily worn and frayed in several areas, with visible losses to the woven material. The frame exhibits numerous scratches, scuffs, and areas of finish loss, particularly along the edges and legs. There are visible cracks in the seat frame on the right side. Some joints appear loose, as noted by the temporary label. One leg has a noticeable chip. The overall structural integrity may require professional assessment and restoration.

* After the auction, Please arrive within the two day pickup time by appointment, or request shipping in that time. Shipping cost= Handling + Postage (usually UPS or USPS). Handling fees for in-house shipping is (per lot): $15 for small lots, $40 for art and furniture. We use Shippo.com to get you the most competitive postage rate possible. Shipments are processed the week after the auction sells. For local pick up, Follow the signup link we will email you after the auction to let us know when you'll be arriving. * For items which remain un-claimed beyond the pickup window: Standard storage fees are $5 per lot, per day, beginning the next Tuesday following the pickup window.
* We will not assume a buyer requires shipping for any reason. The buyer agrees to request shipping in writing to info@fairauctionco.com, and they risk forfeiting their items if this request is not made within 7 days of the auction close. No refund will be extended as a result of buyer forfeiture.
