A George III silver sugar basket, the pierced form embellished with classical medallions amidst swags, a beaded lobed rim and blue glass liner. Hallmarked Walter Brind, London 1774. Height measuring 4 3/4 inches (12 cm), gross silver weight 6 ozt (188 grams).
The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some breaks to the piercing. Rubbing to the decoration, particularly to the medallions. No hallmarks to the handle, other hallmarks somewhat rubbed.
