An early 20th century silver and gold, sapphire and diamond brooch. Of openwork design, the oval-shape sapphire within an asymmetric lattice surround, to the old and rose-cut diamond foliate sides, tapered to rose-cut diamond terminals. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 0.30ct, I-J colour, SI2-P1 clarity. Fifty-six (56) zolotnik mark. Length 4.9cms. Weight 4.7gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Some smaller diamonds appear possible replacements. Diamonds well matched. Individual size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Sapphire is a deep blue hue, well saturated, with x clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
