BID ON THE-SALEROOM
An early George III silver toddy ladle with feather edge and vacant scrolled cartouche to terminal. Hallmarks are distorted but possibly William Turton or Walter Tweedie, London circa 1773-1784. Length measures 9 1/2 inches (24 cm), weight 2.75 ozt (85.6 grams).
The ladle displays some general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing in keeping with the age and use. Also many little surface dints and nicks are visible. Some loss of definition to feather edge. Some surface bumps but generally the bowls has faired well. The hallmarks are partly worn and distorted.
