An Edwardian Baronial, gold, diamond and enamel mourning brooch. The rose-cut diamond trophy and wreath, atop a purple guilloche enamel slightly domed disc, with white enamel surround. Personal inscription to reverse for Sir Edward William Watkin, 1st Baronet, a parliamentarian and railway magnate. Diameter 2.3cms. Weight 8.3gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Diamonds well matched. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. One pin holding diamond trophy is not secure. Enamel with minor surface abrasions. Inscription to reverse reads:'I. M. O. , Sir Edward Watkin Bt, Ob. 13 Apl. 1901. , AEt 82. '.
