Two handsome young Black men pose in a photographer's studio. Each wears an overcoat, a hat, and a silk tie. A Jonnie Johnson is listed as a porter in the 1930 El Reno, Oklahoma, city directory, possibly one of the subjects of this attractive portrait.
Stevenson was a photographer in El Reno who produced stereoviews of Native Americans, including the Cheyenne. (Mautz, p. 345).
Western views of Black subjects are exceedingly scarce.
